What happens in San Angelo stays in San Angelo and Zorro Lives

Concho Confetti  9 x 12 oil on board

Saturday I entered my first Quick Draw competition in San Angelo, Texas.  In the spirit of the
day I cleverly disguised myself as Zorro.
Since we only had two hours to complete the painting, and
since I'm not the fastest brush in the west,
I thought the costume might help me remember to speed things up.
I was delighted to be awarded Best Painting in the Aspiring Artists division,
by Gay Faulkenberry. Thank you!
That means people who went to the quick draw that were not in the week long paint out.

Proof:

The greater Austin area group that was there did well:
I'm pictured here with award winning Laurel Daniel, Kim Hoester,

But the highlight of the event for me was purchasing a wonderful painting by
Shelby Keefe called Intersection.
Shelby won BEST in Show!

Awesome right?!
Thank you for letting me share my art/life with you.

  1. Congratulations, Bruce/Zorro!
Must have been a big thrill for you.
I checked out Shelby Keefe's work and she is a fabulous painter too. You are with a great group.

    1. It was a little nerve racking for me with the time restraint. So I hope the next time I try this I won't be so far out of my comfort zone! Thanks for commenting. I adore Shelby's work!
