Tea Time
Oil 9x12
I was so excited to have my painting Tea Time accepted into the
American Impressionists Small Works Show.
I'm always surprised and delighted to be accepted.
Competitions like this seem like a game of chance.
This painting was a playful experiment of color and mark making.
I set up a still life and did a painting.
Then I used the painting I did as a very loose reference for this exercise.
Painting goes much better for me if I can release expectations
and enjoy the process of making marks with color.
The AIS show will be held at
Greenwich House Gallery
Cincinnati, OH
March 23 -April 21. 2018
On another note:
I woke up from my Holly Daze and realized- WOW
I've got to get to work!
I have alot of deadlines and have been painting up a storm.
I've been so busy I haven't had time to share with you as much as I'd like.
Coming up:

DeleteYou are so encouraging, thank you.
I have always loved your still life paintings, too. And especially love that this one you were trying out some experimental things....I'd say it worked out great!!
