Butter Cream

Butter Cream  6 x 6 oil on board

Maybe it's the cooler weather that has me thinking more about
cooking.  Food items seem to be showing up in my
paintings.  Go figure!

I started this painting as a demo to show some artists
I am working with how to transition from block studies to
actual still life.  The block of butter was the 
perfect thing to use.  I also started this 
piece with notes of pure color and it
progressively got more realistic.

  2. Thanks Julie. I liked the way it way going and we ran out of time, so I put the painting in the freezer
    to keep it wet and added the cream to the pitcher the next day.
