Fall Color Week and Beyond

Fall Color Week

I had the good fortune to attend Fall Color Week in the Adirondacks of Maine
with one hundred other painters.  A big thank you goes out to Eric Rhoads
for organizing this wonderful event.

The scenery was spectacular and unlike any place I've ever painted before.
We were on the Schoodic peninsula and had very little cell coverage.
It was a wonderful experience to unplug, focus on painting, and
make new friends.  I was totally inspired by everyone's generosity and creativity.

I'd like to share my experience with you step by step.
I don't usually paint alot of landscapes but I found this area intriguing.
So I got off to a rocky start on day one with this painting:
Rocky Coastline  9 x 12 oil on board
The morning was fairly warm and sunny so it made up for the breeze
threatening to carry my paper towels out to sea.

  2. Thanks Julie,
Eric is an amazing guy and his painting is really impressive too. He's so inspiring, I don't know how he does it all!
