On The Edge

On The Edge  6x6  oil on museum board

I love painting this knife, but this
painting is really all 
about the patterns of light and dark. 
If I get the negative spaces correct
then the objects just paint
themselves:)

    The shadow of the knife is wonderful and i love the colors too.
    Negative areas are lways a deight for me to explore.
    If something is not looking quite right then I know to check the negative area to find what I did wrong. Usually works like a charm.
