First Cup

First Cup  6x6 oil on board

I really had fun with this little oil painting.  One
of my goals is to be as loose as possible but
still be representational.
Hopefully you'll enjoy viewing these painterly
qualities as much as I enjoyed
the process.

  11. Love this one with all my heart! Definitely my favorite! The colors are so soft, there is so much light in it! And this is exactly how my days begins, even the coffee cup at the same place (can't believe it never fell) Was about to get it, but one more painting - and my husband will kick me out!)) Hopefully it will still be available when we move..
OMG I LOVE IT!!! Great job, Bruce!

  12. Hi Irina! I know the feeling! My husband asked me recently "have you been buying some paintings"? My answer was pretty weak- "hum, yeah, but they're really small"! He just shakes his head and laughs. Thanks for your comment and good luck with your move. I almost feel like a professional mover I've done it a zillion times, well maybe more like 20. The truth is that no matter how far or how close it's ALWAYS a hassle!

  13. Oh no it's sold!(( Congratulations, Bruce, I knew this one will be very popular! :)
You are so right about moving! And on top of all that, I'm trying to count when should I stop painting in oil, so that they all have enough time to dry. Because obviously the wet canvases are not coming with us! :)

  14. Hi Irina, yes it worked out well with a quick sale! When I move I keep painting as long as I can. If they are wet, I just put little wooden triangles (that come with stretched canvases) or anything really on each corner of the painting. Then I duck tape them all together face to face. It works out fine and there's only a little corner to touch up if there is a problem. Good luck!
